Postage is available to all Australian states with the exception of WA, TAS and NT due to strict quarantine restrictions. For those located in excluded states and for international shopping, please visit our ETSY store.
We express post all orders from $14 with tracking to keep you updated. Price of shipping goes up slightly for heavier items, this will be automatically updated at the checkout.
The 'Terrarium Delivery' option at checkout is only valid for ready-made terrariums, or specified items in Adelaide metro & surrounding suburbs which can not be posted. Please ensure you select the correct option as orders will not be sent until postage is covered. We reserve the right to cancel orders where incorrect shipping is selected and invoices have not been paid.
All plants and eligible orders will be sent within 1-2 business days of purchase. Orders are express posted from Adelaide on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Orders placed after 12pm on Wednesdays will be posted Monday to avoid excess transit time over the weekend.
Plants are well watered and treated with an organic seaweed solution to strengthen them for the short journey. They are then very securely wrapped and boxed to be sent ASAP and a confirmation email will be sent with tracking shortly after your order is dispatched.
Adelaide Local & Terrarium Delivery
Ladyfern is an online only store without a physical shop front, therefore we do not offer local pickup. All orders are express posted, with the exception of orders which contain terrariums which cannot be posted due to their delicate nature.
Ladyfern terrariums are available for local delivery within Adelaide metropolitan and surrounding suburbs only. If you are located outside our local delivery zone but would still like to purchase a terrarium, please get in contact to check if we can deliver as we may still be able to accommodate based on location.
For orders containing ready-made terrariums under $100 we charge a $15 flat rate local delivery fee.
Orders $100 and over that contain ready-made terrariums qualify for free local delivery.
Please select 'TERRARIUM DELIVERY' at checkout for orders that include these items. This will automatically be reflected at checkout if your order is eligible.
Local delivery for terrariums is available on upcoming SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS.
Terrariums will be delivered ASAP but please be aware the day you select does not guarantee delivery on that day until confirmation has been made. If you would like delivery on another day or on a specific date, please email ladyfern_indoorplantsandvintage@outlook.com at least 24 hours prior to purchase and we'll do our best to accommodate if possible.
Select your desired option from the drop-down menu on the item's page and once your order has been purchased you will receive an email confirming the time and date within 24 hours.
Please ensure you are home, or advise of a safe place to leave the terrarium if you won't be in attendance (such as with a trusted neighbour, behind the gate etc). If you prefer contact free delivery, just let us know and your order will be left in a safe place. Please ensure the property is accessible at the time of delivery as deliveries cannot be rearranged without additional charge. If no one is home, your order will be left (if safe to do so) and a photo will be texted to you. Ladyfern will not be held accountable for any theft or damage after delivery.
If it is a surprise gift, please leave the recipient's contact details in case they are not in attendance. In this instance it will be left and a photo message will be sent to the recipient.
We cannot deliver terrariums to PO Boxes.
We do not use usual courier services so as to maintain a more personal level of care, to ensure your terrarium arrives safe and in one piece on its way to you.

A Sustainable Approach
Ladyfern is proud to say we are committed to providing a more eco friendly alternative to plastics. In fact, the packaging used in our postal satchels are 100% home compostable, biodegradable and made from plant based materials. They have a significantly lower impact on our precious ecosystems as they can be completely degraded by microorganisms in the natural world under compost conditions, and can even be safely fed into worm farms. Ultimately their breakdown generates carbon dioxide and water and does not pollute the environment with micro plastics which normally occur from other less sustainable forms of packaging.
Our moss packaging is tree-free, made from reclaimed and rapidly renewable sugarcane pulp. This is certified home compostable and carbon neutral. The lids are made from PLA, an ingenious bioplastic made from plants, not oil, and are certified industrially compostable.
We work with companies that share the same sustainable philosophies and ethical practices. Our main supplier donates 1% of all profits to Rainforest Rescue, a not-for-profit that has been protecting and restoring rainforests in Australia and internationally since 1998. Over the past 6 years, they have funded the planting of 10,500 trees and the purchase and successful restoration of 4 hectares of previously cleared rainforest.
Ladyfern also uses cardboard, recycled materials, and sustainable practices in our everyday business operations. We take pride in more environmentally friendly postage methods to ensure continued renewal of resources that ultimately won't end up in landfill for hundreds of years to come.
